Messages from the Meek

October 9th 2011

"Why compare yourself with others? No one in the World can do a better at being you than you." - Unknown.
"Repentance can heal what hurts no matter what is." - President Boyd K. Packer.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not until thine own understanding." - Proverbs 3:5
"Each day we have the opportunities to give help and service -- doing the right thing, at the right time, without delay." - Elder Jose L. Alonso.
When life gets really hard and we struggle with life's challenges that can seem endless, we need to remember that the Lord is there. He will always be there to catch us when we fall, and He is always there for us with opening arms. The Lord will not forsake or forget us, He will lead us out of the darkness as long as we are faithful and call for Him. The Lord is waiting to pour down His blessing and fulfil His promises, we must use our agency and take the first step.

"Need to remember the eternal perspective in our daily lives and struggles" - Dallan H. Oaks.
"Why do we have challenges and obstacle's in our lives? Hope and Faith." - Trek Fireside 2011.
"We are encouraged to spread the meaning of our nine-word name." - M. Russell Ballard.
"If you don't have charity, you don't have anything." - Richard G. Scott."
We shouldn't compare ourselves to one another, we are all different. We all come with different qualities, talents and reasons for this test. When we are all so different, why should we want to be like someone else. Heavenly Father made us the way we are for certain reasons and we must trust his reasons. For only He sees our full potential. Trust the Lord for He will bless and guide you home.

Messages From the Meek

October 3rd, 2011

"Some challenges give us needed experiences to perfect us." - Quentin L. Cook.
"It is our responsibility to call upon thy Father to be healed. Prayer is a sweet privilege and we need to be patient and faithful for His answers." - J. Devin Cornish.
"In the temple we become joint couples in the covenant of eternal families." - Russell M. Neilson.
"Believing in finding love, hope, and true happiness in this life and the next." - Tom Perry.
It's not always about the lesson or talk that will change us, we must act upon the prompting to change. And once the decision to change is final, that doesn't mean life will get easier. Satan wants us to struggle, get discouraged, and give up. We must fight him and his clever ways to chain us down. Turn to the Lord for everything; good and bad. Hold tight to the Lord and never lose sight in  eternal life. It will not be easy but the reward will be beyond our wonders and be so worth it. Stay strong, He is there.

Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy,

No matter where I go in life,

who I get married to,

how much time I spend with guys,

how much I love my boyfriend,

you'll always be my number 1 man.

Sincerely,
Your Little Girl.

My Princess

My Princess,

Don't you believe that I know who you will marry, and that I'm capable of leading you to that right person?

Can you also believe that I am the God of all Creation? I know you better than you know yourself.

I am perfectly able to bring this person into your life in my own time, in my own way... and I don't need your help.

God.

Hidden Wedges

President Thomas S. Monson was First Counselor of the First Fresidency when he gave a talk about hidden wedges and the how little splits can cause life time effects. To me this talk, thanks to my bishop really helped me and figure out some things in my personal life.

Recently, a friend and I had a rough patch which consist of very rude comments, complete ignoring each other, dragging others in, and being far to stubborn to actually talk to each other and figure it out. I blame our similar personalities. :P Well, I knew I needed to get over it and forgive and move on but it was hard when I felt like they didn't care while they thought I didn't care. It was a long, painful and sometimes tearful experience. It didn't feel like any of my prayers were getting answers so I asked my bishop for ideas; after a few days of sincere praying, pondering the scriptures, and reading "Hidden Wedges" I started to see my answer.

"The spirit must be freed from tethers so strong, and feelings never put to rest, so that the lift of life may give buoyancy to the soul. There are hurt feelings and reluctance to forgive. It doesn't really matter what the issue was. It cannot and should not be left to injure."
* This showed me that I couldn't just wait and wish upon the evening star for things to get better. I needed to buck up, swallowed my fears, and talk out both sides of our fight and move on. That won't mean things will go back to normal but they'll be better.

"Blame keeps the wounds open. Only forgiveness heals." *This was a large quote for me. I highlighted, underlined, boxed, and probably abused these two sentences. Blame is something we as human being want to do. That's all my friend and I seem to do, blame each other as the reasons for our struggling friendship.

To my friend: I am sorry. It's not my first time apologizing and I know you've apologized multiple times. But I wanted you to read this and realized that I have forgiven you. I'm over it, honestly, I am. To be perfectly truthful, I just want my friend back. The one that I met last year in choir and have inside jokes that must be written in stone. I know things may not be the way they were exactly but I'd like my friend back. I hope you can take this and possibly we can start this friendship over again. (:

Not All Grown Up

Recently I had a stressful day at school which caused me to come home crying. My dad was home and held me close as I cried; I cried for probably fifteen minutes in his arms. He stroked my hair, my back, and simply comforted me like I was a little kid once again. This struck me and has been with me all weekend. I'm not all grown up despite my growing age and growing independence.

I am not all grown up and I won't ever be; I'll be always wanting my mommy and daddy when my days are hard. And I didn't realize how fast I had be growing up until my dad called me 'baby' and treated me like his little first baby. My gratitude towards my parents is undescribable.

I may be growing up, soon be going to college, and sometime start a family on my own but I will always be my parent's baby and I love them with all my heart. Don't wish away your childhood and rush to leave your family's home; for they'll always be your family and be there for you. Never take them for granted because I know I'm trying not to.

I love my family and I'm so happy that I can be with them together forever. (:

Trust in the Lord

Pinned Image

God is always there in your times of need but He wants you to grow and become a better you. Even though He is quiet doesn't mean He isn't listening. He is there for you. Always.
"Trust in the Lord is all thine doing and lean not unto your own understandings."

My Wonderful Parents

Pinned Image

To my earthly Mom and Dad, I don't even know where to begin. You've helped me so much in my life; you've encouraged to do my best and even when I fell down you picked me up and helped me on my way. Even when I'm a stubborn teenage girl who wants to rebell and make my own stupid mistakes, you always stood next to me and loved me. I don't know where I'd be without you guys and I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me and for out family. I'm so happy that we can be together forever and that no matter what happens we will be a family.
I love you so much and not a day goes by that I don't appreciate everything you do. I hope you never forget what you mean to me and you'll always be my heros.

To my wonderful Father in Heaven, no words can express my gratitude. You are always there watching me, guiding me, and keeping me in your own prayers. You are always there even when I'm stubborn and want to take my own path. You always know what to do to help me in my times of need.  You have been so patient with me and my gratitude towards that is endless. I'm not perfect and I will never be but I know when I have you on  my side and I can become closer to what I've designed to be.
I know lately I haven't been the best daughter and the best example of a member of your church but I hope that with your help I'll become worthy once again and that I may continuely feel your peace.  I thank you for all the many blessings which you have given me and the trials you sent for me that I may grow. I thank you for everything you do.

Conference Quote!

"He knows your sacrifices and your sorrows. He hears your prayers. His peace and rest will be yours as you continue to wait upon Him in faith." -- Elder Robert D. Hales
"Just as the Book of Mormon makes the change plain to us, it also directs us upward on the path to eternal life." -- President Henry B. Eyring

"Your future is as bright as your faith." -- President Thomas S. Monson

Pop Song, Great Message

Kelly Clarkson has produced another single called, What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) and it really has some powerful lyrics that everyone should remember.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller. Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone. What doesn't kill you makes you a fighter, footsteps even lighter. Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Her words are true, when we go through hardships and our trials seem to over take our lives we need to remember that we will get stronger because of our afflictions. The Lord told the prophet Joseph while he was in Liberty jail as he asked why he and the Saints are tried  over and over.

D & C 121: 7-8
7 My son, apeace be unto thy soul; thine badversity and thine afflictions shall be but a csmall moment;
8 And then, if thou aendure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy bfoes.

Your trials may be strong and feel overpowering and never ending but your afflications are just a small part. With each hardship that you conquer you are growing stronger; you may not realize how strong you've grown but you have. You are growing stronger with each trial and when you put your trust in the Lord, He will help you. He is always there for you. Always.

Moi Messages

Surfing facebook, I saw this and knew I needed to share it. Thank you for who posted this.

"Pray always, lest you enter into temptation and lose your reward. Be faithful unto the end, and lo, I am with you. These words are not of man nor of men, but of me, even Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, by the will of the Father." D&C 31: 12-13.

Songs of Truth

A while ago a singer came to my stake and talked about her journey and how she became a singer that is played on "Soft Sunday Sounds." Her name is Jacquie Jones and she once lived in my stake years and years ago; well she gave each girl for each family her c.d. and it's one of my favorites. The songs are true and touching, the spirit is in each, and it really helps when you're feeling down.

"Here I am again down on my knees, and with every pleading word thy comfort I seek. Though the words are slow to come, my thoughts are racing by peace fills the room thy spirit is nigh. He hears me when I'm crying in the night. He hears me when my soul longs to fight. Til the morning will come and the light of the dawn reassures me...He hears me."
"All alone I leave the harbor, so many oceans to explore on my own I face the darkness as I leave behind the safety of the shore. When I'm tossed upon the water, when winds of change begin to blow. His words of truth, I will follow. The Savior's hop is the anchor of my soul. "

"Lonely road so hard to travel, I fix my eyes upon the distant light. Where my struggles cloud my vision and make it hard to keep Him in my sight. I know He's near me and I know He'll catch me when if all. Keep your eyes on me, Rely on me, I will lead you home. Don't lose faith in me, find strength in me. I won't let you face the night alone. "

"Stillness filled the heavens on crusification day. Some say it rain, I don't know if it's true. But I can just imagine ten-thousand angels cry, that would seem like rain to me and you. The angel's all stood ready to take him away from the trree, they waited for the wrods from his voice. And when He asked the Father, Why hast thou forsaken me. They watched the Savior die of his own choice. I've never seen ten-thousand angels cry but I'm sure they as they stood by and watched teh Savior die. God turned his head away, He coulnd't bear the sight. It must have looke dlike Rain when ten-thousand angels cried. .."

"Face to face so few were in that place. When heaven sent Messiah to reclaim this fallen race. And if I can't convince a world, than perhaps I'll reach a soul. As I tell of how He's changed me, how I wait for Him to take me. Then I'll worship on my knees and kiss once wounded feet. Though He knows my prayer, one day I'll tell Him face to face."

Forget Me Not

"There is a German legend that just as God had finished naming all the plants, one was left unnamed. A tiny voice spoke out, “Forget me not, O Lord!” And God replied that this would be its name."

"The little forget-me-not flower prompt me to consider five things we would be wise never to forget."

1) Forget not to be patient with yourself.
Being patient with yourself is more about gaining patience for situations but understanding that you aren't perfect and others who seem to be, aren't. It's about being patient with yourself as you progress in this life and travel through the hills of success and the valley's trials. Uchtdorf explains we all have strengths and weaknesses; while it's great to have strengths it is part of the plan of each of us being to here to turn out weaknesses to strengths with the help of the Lord.
"He wants us to become perfect,2‍ and if we stay on the path of discipleship, one day we will. It’s OK that you’re not quite there yet. Keep working on it, but stop punishing yourself." "Many of you are endlessly compassionate and patient with the weaknesses of others. Please remember also to be compassionate and patient with yourself."
Part of being patient is seeing the small and simple things that make each day wonderful and full of joy. Be thankful for the things in your life like your education, your health, your personal grow, your calling, or your family relations. These may seem tiny to you and unnoticed to others but not with God; He see's them and they aren't small to him.
Our journey toward perfection is long, but we can find wonder and delight in even the tiniest steps in that journey."

2) Forget not the difference between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice.
An acceptable sacrifice is when we give up something good for something far greater in return; we may not see the benefit we are receiving when we give good sacrifices but they are there. Every one and their situations may be different and one's good sacrifice may be a foolish to another but the Lord knows our hearts and our desires of the sacrifice.
“Am I committing my time and energies to the things that matter most?”
How can we know the difference in our situation, ask that question. That will put things in eternal perspective and let the Holy Ghost guide you more fully.

3) Forget not to be happy now.
Uchtdorf relates this to the story of Charle and the Chocolate Factory and how people began to earn only for the golden ticket for their happiness and being disappointed when it was only the candy bar. They began to forget to see the true happiness of today. They began to think almost, "I'll be happy when..." In this instance, I'll be happy when I get the golden ticket. Today, many people are waiting for their golden ticket and wanting everything to be perfect when receive it.
"There is nothing wrong with righteous yearnings. The problem comes when we put our happiness on hold as we wait for some future event—our golden ticket—to appear."
He tells a story of a woman who wanted to marry a worthy priesthood holder who will take her to the temple and they'd have a perfect family that was filled with loved and no bitter words; she was so focussed on this "golden ticket" that she began to become bitter and withdrawn when it was not appearing to her. The tragic ending of the story is that she may not had been married but as a teacher she had the ability to teach and change the lives of many childen like a mother. She failed to her blessings that surrounded her because she was holding out for an event to appear.
"The lesson here is that if we spend our days waiting for fabulous roses, we could miss the beauty and wonder of the tiny forget-me-nots‍ that are all around us." "The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket; they are those who, while in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of the everyday moments."

4) Forget not the "why" of the gospel.
Sometimes in the busyness of our lives we unintentionally overlook the aspeck of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We focus on completing the next task that is required of our calling and duties that we soon forget the reason why the Lord has commanded us to do things.
"We focus on what‍ the Lord wants us to do and how‍ we might do it, but we sometimes forget why." "The gospel of Jesus Christ‍ is not an obligation; it is a pathway, marked by our loving Father in Heaven, leading to happiness and peace in this life and glory and inexpressible fulfillment in the life to come."
Let us not walk in the Lord's path with our eyes to the ground focussing on what we need to do next. When we walk up straight and focus on the what, how, and why of each task the Lord's gives us; He will help us competely all that we need to do.
"When we understand why‍ our Heavenly Father has given us this pattern for living, when we remember why‍ we committed to making it a foundational part of our lives, the gospel ceases to become a burden and, instead, becomes a joy and a delight."
5) Forget not that the Lord loves you.
Everyone has those times in their lives when they ponder if they are forgotten by those who truely care for them. I am no different; I also know that as we grow older those questions relate to trials or hardships that we seem to go through. We are never forgetten.
"No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you with an infinite love." "You are known and remembered by the most majestic, powerful, and glorious Being in the universe! You are loved by the King of infinite space and everlasting time!"
Just think of it, that great Being who created numurous worlds, who hears everything whisper you cry out loud or within your heart. He knows your name. He knows you, He loves you and He's watching you grow into something greater than you can imagine. You are closer to heaven than you; you always have a piece of heaven with you -- the Holy Ghost.

Moi Messages

This evening my ward is having a Missionary fireside, I don't know what all there is to be involved with it but I volunteered to speak about a missionary experience I had. I don't have many but I have one that I view as a missionary experience that I'll be sharing.

"My missionary moment isn't from two Elders or Sisters dedicating two years of their lives to serve our Lord. It is from 42 teenagers just like me with 3 amazing councilors and a camp called E.F.Y. They changed me completely and for the better, I don't think they realize the impact they each had on my life. I wouldn't take back that week for anything.
Before I went to E.F.Y. I knew that I was loved and that I was special, or I thought I knew. But we all hear that we are special and that we're loved but there's a difference from hearing and knowing. And I was only hearing for a long time. My self-confidence was rotten, I felt hopeless and I seeked for any compliment I could hold; but all that began to change after my first day of E.F.Y.
Over the course of that week, my heart changed, my self-confidence grew, and I began to know things I was only hearing before. I felt the arms of the Atonement surround me, reminding me that I as worth it. And God's endless mercies unfolden around me as I felt His unconditional love consume me.
I wouldn't be the person I am today, I wouldn't be constantly encouraging myself to be better, I wouldn't be the Holy Ghost frequently without my 45 missionaries who gave up a week of their summer to help a lost sheep return to the flock and feel the happiness once again. They will never realize how much that week has changed me and my future family; I'm in endless gratitude towards you all. My words aren't enough."

You are a Queen

This video shares Sister Dalton's lesson on how she found out what true beauty means. She describes a queen, a beautiful glowing queen, who wears no crown with fine jewels or sits on a high throne for all to see. A queen's beauty could not be bought; it came from years from seeking the best gifts, great faith, courage, and trust during trials.

I'd like to testify that I know each of us our kings and queen and we have a great power and impact on the world today. You may feel small but remember the scripture, "By small and little things, great things come to pass." Your small acts of kindness, your times of trials, and your eargerness to do what is commanded of you will cause great things to happen. You may not see their impact right away, or at all, but your print on the world has barely began.

I know that when we strive to listen to the prophets, our leaders, even our parents that we will be blessed. I also know that our impact and example glows brighter when words are not enough; people watch your actions, you are a diciple of Jesus Christ and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

You have a great beauty and spirit inside of you; don't hide it, let it shine! Our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ love you, no matter what you think you've done, no matter your situation. They love you! & know you and can see the great being you are becoming.

Don't be afraid to come to them for guidance, comfort, or peace. They are always there for you now and forever. Never forget them, for they haven't forgotten you. I know that this gospel is true and that everyone should have the chance to hear it and to share it. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet who really communes with our Father and cares for each of us. I know that our Savior did die for each of us. And I know that with Him I can return to live with my Father once again. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Conference Quote!

"Time is never for sale; time is a commodity that cannot, try as you may, be bought at any store for any price. Yet when time is wisely used, its vauled is immeasureable." ~ Elder Ian S. Ardern
"Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. Its not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." ~ Elder Neil L. Anderson

Ninety and Nine

Ninety and Nine
By Michael McLean

I am one of the ninety and nine
I'm not perfect, but basically I'm doing fine
I have not lost my way, I have not gone astray
I'm just one of the ninety and nine

I am here in the heart of the fold
I'm not mindless, but I try to do as I'm told
I'm not tempted to run and become the lost one
I am here in the heart of the fold

So why is my Shepherd coming this way toward me
He's holding His arms out
And He's calling my name, Yes He's calling my name
But how, how can this be?

I'm just one of the ninety and nine
I have stumbled and fallen
but I've kept in line
I'm not one he must seek; I'm not all that unique
I'm just one of the ninety and nine

So why is my Shepherd treating me like a lost lamb
He's searching to find me
And He's holding holding me now; Yes, He's holding me now
And teaching me who I am
So why am I feeling like I'm the only one here
It's like I'm His favorite

And He takes me aside, And He sweetly confides
These remarkable words in my ear
You are one of the ninety and nine

Have you any idea how brightly you shine?
You are safe in this fold and it's time you were told
That I know where you've been so I know where you'll be
Because all your life you've been following me
You are more than just one of the sands of the sea
Or just one of the ninety and nine

You are mine!

I am one of the ninety and nine.

My Best Friend

Recently in my life I feel like I'm losing my friends and that people don't value my friendship; it's been a struggle to keep moving forward and not focusing on these doubts. One doubt in particular is that I don't have a "best friend". Yes, I call a lot of people my "best friends" but everyone I call "best friends" has one friend that they tell everything to and you can tell that their friendship will never die. & I don't feel like I don't have that one best friend who knows everything which makes me feel very lonely and sad, to be honest. I do have a best friend, who has never left my side and who listens to everything I say even in my times of silence.

Jesus Christ, my Savior, Redeemer, and so much more. Through these times of doubts and troubles with my friends and the value of my friendship; I realize that parting with friends is something I will have to deal with even when its hard but I'll never have to be apart from Him. He is given me so much hope, guidance, peace, and comfort that I don't know where I'd be without Him. His selfless act known as the Atonement means that I can return to live with Him, my best friend, and that He believes in me.

His love for each of us is greater than we will ever know. I know I have barely scratched the surface of understanding how much He loves me and yet I'm filled with so much gratitude and love. Jesus knew that we'd all struggle when we were away from home and He didn't want to send us here alone without a way back. He sent with us His great friend and a member of the God Head, the Holy Ghost, to guide us and comfort us and then He sent Himself down to die for each of us reassuring that each of us will return back home.

He is our brother, our friend, and our Savior; only someone who loves us indefinitely would give their life so that others may live once again with God. He knows us and encourages us to be our best no matter what. He knows that we will make mistakes and that will get discouraged but He is there to pick us up and help us fly again. We also need to remember that we learn from our mistakes and that it's okay to make them because that means we are learning with Christ and our Heavenly Father want.

It was through the Holy Ghost that the thought came to me, "He is your best friend" and I can't deny that the message hasn't had an affect on me. Since then when the doubts appear; they gets pushed out by the echo of the thought sent from the Holy Ghost. He really is my best friend who I can count on for everything and I know He's always there to listen.

A Scary Experience...

Over the weekend, a group of friends and I got together for a party where we played pool, Just Dance 3, and capture the flag. It was fun! A bunch of teenagers eating junk food, watching Tangled, and playing at park at nine o'clock -- we were acting more like little kids; but who ever said high schoolers were mature?!  Well, a few of  us got in to mood for some adventures, safe but exciting adventures. We piled into two cars and made our way to a town a little out of the way; I will not say the name of the town for I know people who live there.

So were driving along through the streets of the neighborhood looking for any specs of fun that could be done without awaking others in the process. As we drove up a street there was a house with an unusual symbol hanging in the window, only a few of us knew what it meant but as the title of the group that associate with that symbol came up chills ran down my spine and I felt very unsafe in the car. We drove away from that street and parked by the a park and walked around a bit. I was with two of my good friends, both girls as the two guys in front of us ran off ahead.

As we began to walk around, the three girls, we passed the street of the scary house and instantly the spirit was gone from me. I won't say I'm perfect so I'm always with the spirit but for a few months now I've become more sensitive with the Spirit and feeling it in my life. But this, this scared me to tears. The Spirit left and I haven't felt so much loneliness and fear ever. It was like the my safety shield was gone and I was so afraid. I can't express into words how afraid I truly was; knowing that my life could be in danger and having no comfort from the Holy Ghost.

It was a sign we needed to leave, we shouldn't be there and so we left but not before we had all learned a lesson. I will never forget what this scary experience had taught me; that I have a privilege to be accompanied with the Spirit and I shouldn't take that for granted. He warns us in soft whispers, gentle urges, and when we won't listen, He'll leave and sometimes that His biggest warning.

I'm so grateful for the Holy Ghost and of this gospel that saves me everyday. I have no idea where my life would be without knowing Christ and this gospel. I know that Christ did suffer and die for me so that I may return with Him to our Father. And I know that I may not be perfect and that I make mistakes but that doesn't mean my God doesn't love me. My gratitude towards my Savior and my God is endless and indescribable and with Them I know I can reach my goals and my potential. I know that we do have living prophets who speak for God and care for each of us. Prayer and Scripture reading aren't just a suggestions; they do help your every day and bring you closer to God. I'm thankful for my family and my true friends; they are great examples for me and great people who I love dearly. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Songs of Truth

A few girls including myself are participating in the "New Beginnings" choir which my stake is in charge of this year. New Beginnings is a meeting where the girls who will be joining the Young Women Program this year come to see what Young Women is really about. Well, we'll be singing a few songs that evening and the messages of those songs are truly touching.

"Beauty is character is the ultimate achievement." ~ Obert C. Tanner
Beauty Is...
Beauty is found in the girl who believes in the power of her divinity. The light in her eyes shows her goodness inside. She is honest and kind at all times. When you care more about living the way Christ did; that's when you'll know what beauty is. Just like a temple that shines, cared for on the outside. The beauty within the doors is the thing that matters a million times more. So magnify the holiness within you. Let purity dwell inside.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light until all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." ~ Matthew 5: 14-16
Light on a Hill...
You are just one light in the darkness traveling by faith. But just one light is hope to the ones who've lost their way. You are a light on a hill, it cannot be hidden cannot be still. Sharing His light 'til the whole world is filled. You are a light on a hill. In a world that's lost and lonely, heaven works through you. Bringing hope to those who are searching for the truth.

"It is up to you to decide that you will "arise and shine forth." I believe that as you awake and arise, your light will be a standard to the nations, but I also believe your standards will be a light to the nations. You are set part. You distinguished yourselves in the premortal existence. Your lineage carries with it a covenant and promises...By the way you live the gosepl, you reflect His light. Your example will have a powerful effect for good on the earth. 'Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations' is a call to each of you. It is a call to move to higher ground. It is a call to leadership -- to lead out in decency, purity, modesty, and holiness. It is a call to share this light with others. It is time to "arise and shine forth." ~Elaine Dalton

Arise and Shine Forth...
Born as daughters of a royal birth, noble spirits of eternal worth. Each to Him is known, each He calls His own. We'll strive to fill the role of our creation, rise to be a standard for the nations. We will find the light and hold it for the world to see. Live to be the daughter we were meant to be. We are precious in His sight, sent to be the childer of light. Arise, arise and riase the torch. Arise, arise, arise and shine forth.

Quotes of Encouragement

"God didn't give us what we can handle. God helps us handle what we are given."

"We are not human being having a spiritual experience..We are spiritual beings having a human experience."

"We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day."

"It's so important to make someone happy. Start with yourself."

"Everything is going to be alright. Maybe not today but eventually."

"There's no testimony without the test."

"You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it."

Someone Else's Eyes

"It look me a long time not to judge myself through someone else's eyes." -Sally Field.
The hardest things it seems these days is not judging someone else harshly but judging ourselves harshly. I know in my life I have challenges everyday not to criticize everything I do and let negative thoughts control my life. I'm not perfect; I'm anything but. But I'm trying to be better and as long as I know I'm trying to be better; I know somebody I will get to where I want to be. You are not alone when it comes to judging yourself harshly or when negative doubts fill your mind. You are never alone. The Lord is always there willing to catch you when you fall, encourage you forever, and comfort you when your heart breaks. He sees the great Being you are becoming.

Look Up

"A challenge for all of us is not to look sideways to see how others are viewing our lives but to look up to see how Heavenly Father sees us." -- Elder Carl B. Cook
Elder Cook talks about his beginning struggles of the MTC with learning the language for his mission is Germany; he mentions how he would compare his progress with his companion and the other elder's in his district. And then he tells of the prayer and answer that has effected him to this day.

"I slipped into that tiny room and knelt down on a mop. I began to plead with Heavenly Father for some relief. The Lord answered that prayer. I felt this thought come into my mind: “I never called you to master the German language. I just called you to serve with all of your heart, mind, and strength.” "

I believe that we can take his answer and apply it in our lives; the Lord did not send us to this life to come back the same. He sent us so that we can turn to Him with all our heart and strength so that we can come back stronger, a better person. Elder Cook also talks about how from that point on he did not look at others or at himself; he looked up to know what He thought of his efforts. And I believe we can all do that; I know in my personal life I strive to look up for comfort from my temptations or doubts instead of others around me. I'm not perfect and I know I still have a long way to go before I get to where He wants me to be; but I'm trying to constantly look up because I know He can help me whenever for He is always there.

Elder Cook list some principles that can help each of us "look up":

Tap into Spiritual Power - We can tap into the spiritual power but daily prayer and personal & constant scripture reading. When we are ask "What can I do for Thee today?" He will bless us with a prompting of his plans.  We will be able act upon the impressions He gives us and to do difficulties things for the right reasons, depsite what's required.

Stay True to the Direction You Recieve - We can "look up" by staying true to the direction we recieve by our Heavenly Father by personal revaltions. Sometimes others can try to persuade us to swirve off the direction we've been given, even by good intentions. We need to stay true to what we've been told.

Don't Be Afraid to Act -  Sometimes we see a plan set before us from start to finish getting caught up with all the details, we become afraid to act. Make good choices by the best of your judgement and then keep moving forward. Don't be afraid of making decisions for the fear of making mistakes. Don't be afraid of trying new things; in doing so you can find joy in the journey.

Stand by Your Post - All of us are in the  need of help. Some solutions we ask for come quickly while some come later we hoped or different than we had hoped. And occasionally, the solutions don't come at all. In such cases, Elder Cook advices that we stand by our post until the Lord sends some help -- that doesn't mean we stand still and wait. Don't be afraid to act, keep moving forward with good intentions. Keep praying and reading the scriptures and obeying all the commandments. "Don’t abandon your post. In His time the Lord will allow all things to work out for your good."

"As Mormon explains in Helaman 3:27, “The Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name.” I have felt and experienced His mercy and love. I know His mercy will come to all of us as we believe and call upon His name."

My dear one

My dear one,
No man can ever claim you unless he claims you from Me.
I reserve a man for you who has My heart and loves Me more than he will love you. Soon you will know him, I have the perfect time
You are My princess, My daughter. Let no prince claim you unless he asks you from My hand for I am your Father, the King of Kings.
You, My princess, are worth loving and deserve a prince.
